FID (File Identifier) is a small, fast and no-nonsense DOS utility to identify a file on your (hard)disk. Currently, there are a lot of different filetypes on Amiga systems, for example: if you downloaded a file called 'TEST' from a Bulletin Board System, you cannot determine whether the file is a (crunched) executable or a data file. FID attempts to let you know if the file is an executable or a data file, if it is crunched, and most possibly, what it is crunched with. You can then decide what to do with the mysterious file 'TEST'.
